Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Robert Robins

I am currently a lead teacher in a self-contained classroom. This classroom is part of the Learning Center Program at Ridgefield Memorial High School.  My classroom is self-contained and designated specifically for students with autism.  I have been working in our district for over 14 years.

I received my teaching certification and my Master of Arts in Education, with a minor in Administration and Supervision from Saint Peter’s College in Jersey City, NJ.  After graduation, I went to William Paterson University where I received a certification degree in Special Education.

In my classroom, I try to be innovative and have brought many new lessons and activities to my classroom program.  Here are just a few that have been successful:

·      Therapy Dogs:  I brought the therapy dog program into the school.  My hope was to reach the students that appear closed off.  The dogs were a great success.

I enjoy working for one of the best programs for students with disabilities in the state of NJ.  I enjoy working with great fellow educators and administrators.

The rewards of this job are many; I hope to continue helping students achieve independence and self-sufficiency.
